vivo V25 review

introduction

vivo launched the V25 and V25 Pro in August. And after we reviewed the V25 Pro, it's time to take a look at the vanilla V25.

Like its bigger sibling, the V25 is aimed at the younger creative crowd. This is clearly evidenced by the 64MP main camera that supports OIS and, what's more, the 50MP, f/2.0 selfie camera with autofocus. The rest of the V25's specs paint a nice mid-range picture on paper.

Vivo V25 also has a pretty attractive exterior. Largely thanks to the inclusion of a UV-reactive vivo Fluorite AG glass back surface that changes color when exposed to light. This allows users to create temporary patterns and traces on the V25.

This color change trick has been carried out from the previous V23 generation, and also has a focus on photography and box design. The V25 features an Apple-inspired look with flat sides and beautifully rounded corners. The phone is quite slim and light, as usual for the vivo "V" line of devices.

Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let's take a quick look at the vivo V25 retail package.

Unpacking

The Vivo V25 ships in your standard two-piece cardboard box. It is thick and sturdy, which is always appreciated but not too flashy. However, it stands out on some shelves thanks to vivo's color choices. There's a lot of plastic in the box, which is great for holding everything securely in place but not particularly ideal for the environment.

The Vivo V25 has what we consider a very rich retail package in terms of accessories. In the box, you get a nice and sturdy transparent TPU case. Also, a pair of white earbuds with an in-line microphone and a 3.5mm audio jack. vivo also includes a Type-C to 3.5mm jack adapter for use with buds.

The included charger is one of vivo's 44W FlashCharge units. It is rated for 5V@2A, 9V@2A and 11V@4A outputs. It uses a USB Type-A plug, and vivo has included a Type-A to Type-C cable in the box. Since vivo's FlashCharge doesn't use a proprietary cable, it should be easy to replace it if it's lost. But you should be more careful with the charger itself.
