DisneyPlus Review Pros, Cons, And Alternatives In January 2023

Disney Plus has been available to residents of the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands since late November 2019. It finally arrived in India and other European countries in late March 2020, and it has since expanded to other parts of Europe and Latin America. As a result, Disney Plus now has more than 100 million subscribers. Is the $7.99 monthly fee, however, still reasonable for the service? Our Disney Plus review will provide you with an answer based on our use of the service since its launch.

Disney Plus is essentially your one-stop shop for everything Disney-related in terms of movies and TV shows. The majority of other streaming services, particularly those based on studios such as HBO Max, Peacock, and Paramount Plus, occasionally suffer from a lack of their own film and television libraries. With Disney Plus, you can watch almost all of Disney's Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, as well as almost all of its previous and current animated titles. Not to mention a plethora of other new and classic films, television shows, short films, specials, and National Geographic documentaries.

If you're not a big fan of the studio, Disney Plus isn't for you. If you are, there is a wealth of content to be discovered. Yes, Steamboat Willie, the very first Mickey Mouse short, made its debut in 1928. In between, you can watch a slew of live-action films, series, and animated Disney features and shorts. The majority of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films are available. You can watch every Star Wars and Pixar film online. If you enjoy documentaries, there are several National Geographic films and reality shows available to stream.

We'll just say that Disney Plus has a plethora of movies and TV shows from the defunct 20th Century Fox. That's because Disney purchased the studio's back catalog of films and television episodes in 2018. For example, you can watch every episode of The Simpsons ever made. Disney Plus has a plethora of family-friendly films, including several Fox productions such as The Sound of Music and Avatar. Many of Fox's previously unofficially excluded X-Men and Fantastic Four Marvel films have recently been made available for streaming.

One complaint about Disney Plus is that there isn't enough content that appeals to a more mature audience. Although we are aware that this is a Disney Plus feature, we believe there is room to expand the selection of films and television series available to older audiences, particularly from the Fox library.

If you live somewhere other than the United States, this is no longer an issue. The Star brand portion of Disney Plus is now available globally. It includes new content as well as more mature television series and other media from Disney and Twentieth Century Fox. Having said that, our assessment of Disney Plus in this regard is excellent.

Is Disney Plus worth the money?

Our overall impression of Disney Plus is positive. If you are the target demographic for this type of content, we believe it will be well worth your $7.99 per month. There are, of course, ways to get Disney Plus for free. Our main complaint is the lack of original content, which is improving month by month. Last but not least, there is no student discount for Disney Plus, but that doesn't make it any less valuable.
