Mimo is a web development learn-to-code software that includes programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and many others for Pro members, as well as in-depth training on these topics.
The Mimo app was my personal go-to when I was interested in HTML, with over 6.8k ratings on the iOS app store and a total star count of 4.8/5 stars, as well as a huge 135,000+ ratings on the Google Play Store with a 4.7/5 stars rating and the Editors' Choice badge on the Google Play Store.
As shown in the app store description and when you join up, where you're prompted to set reminders and how much time you want to spend coding every day, the Mimo app is largely focused on making coding a part of your daily calendar.
I had previously installed the program to try out coding HTML and left after finishing all of the HTML classes. I had lost interest in coding over time, and the fact that I had to pay for the Pro edition to conduct projects, challenges, and browse the glossary wasn't helping. But I completely realize that the developers worked very hard on the software and that the operating costs must be covered.
What I Liked and Disliked About Mimo
What I Enjoyed
Overall, the design is the best; it is simple, uncluttered, and easy to explore.
The questions progress from easy to difficult, creating a solid basis.
The Mimo excels in motivating others. This is the most inspiring coding software I've encountered to date, from the ability to set daily reminders to having your own schedule of different courses, as well as a daily streak and scorestreak when performing each topic.
What I Didn't Like
Inquiries with too much handholding — Instead of telling the user what to do, the questions should be more focused on allowing the user to type the answers down and figure out the answer for themselves.
The bulk of projects and challenges, as well as courses, are only available in the Pro version – which is a huge disadvantage for many students. However, if you have additional money and are willing to spend it on the Mimo app's better look, it is ideal for you.
Summary of Mimo's Review
Overall, the Mimo app provides a lot of features, but you'll need to buy the Pro version to keep using it. I recommend trying it out and then buying the Pro version right away if you like it so you can use the Pro-only challenges and projects for all courses.
Mimo is still the greatest learning-to-code app in my opinion (if you're prepared to pay for the monthly subscription) because of its premium feel and incentive features like leaderboards and daily streaks.
When you only have a few minutes to spare, the app is ideal for brief learning sessions on the road.
You'll receive access to more than just web development and programming languages if you buy the Pro version, including data science and cybersecurity.
I'll surely update this review if I decide to purchase the Pro version and learn the various programming languages Mimo has to offer.
